    Hostellerie Kemmelberg is an iconic destination located on top of the Kemmelberg, where gastronomy, hospitality and experience come together in a unique setting overlooking the Flemish hills and Northern France.

    Under renewed management, Hostellerie Kemmelberg continues to build a strong culinary story focused on quality, warmth and personalized service. This is not anonymous hospitality, but a destination where guests consciously choose refinement, tranquillity and a complete experience.

    To strengthen our front-of-house team, we are looking for an experienced Maître Sommelier who brings not only wine expertise, but also leadership, charisma and a true passion for hospitality.

    Your role

    As Maître Sommelier, you are one of the key figures within Hostellerie Kemmelberg.

    You are the face of the dining room, welcoming guests with elegance and warmth while ensuring that service, atmosphere and timing come together seamlessly. You guide guests through wine selections and create a refined wine and gastronomic experience that perfectly complements our cuisine and vision.

    In addition, you take an active role in leading, coaching and motivating the front-of-house team. You help build a professional service culture where hospitality, attention to detail and quality are central.

    This position goes far beyond wine alone. We are looking for someone who helps shape the complete guest experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Welcoming and professionally assisting guests
    • Advising guests on wine and food pairings
    • Creating, managing and further developing the wine list
    • Leading, coaching and supporting the front-of-house team
    • Ensuring service quality, smooth operations and guest satisfaction
    • Working closely with the kitchen and management team
    • Helping strengthen the reputation and identity of Hostellerie Kemmelberg
    • Managing wine stock, purchasing and cost control
    • Being present during events, gastronomic evenings and exclusive receptions

    Profile

    • Experience as a sommelier or maître in a gastronomic or fine dining environment
    • Strong knowledge of wine and gastronomy
    • Leadership skills and maturity to manage a service team
    • Hospitable, communicative and professional
    • Attention to detail with a natural sense of atmosphere and service
    • Passion for hospitality and quality
    • Fluent in Dutch and French, English is a plus
    • Someone who takes pride in creating memorable experiences

    Sous-chef

    About Us

    Hostellerie Kemmelberg, located at the top of Mount Kemmel, is a top-tier culinary destination in the region, where hospitality and refinement come together. To realize this vision, we are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Sous-Chef to support our Chef and deliver an exceptional culinary experience together. This position also offers a unique opportunity for the Sous-Chef to make a name for themselves and build a strong reputation in the culinary world.

    Your Role

    As Sous-Chef, you are the right hand of our Chef and play a key role in delivering top-quality cuisine. You assist in creating dishes that highlight refinement and showcase seasonal, local ingredients. You oversee daily kitchen operations, manage the team when needed, and ensure that each dish is perfectly prepared and presented. Together with the Chef, you work on developing new menus that will surprise our guests and uphold the culinary standards of Hostellerie Kemmelberg.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist the Chef with the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes.
    • Supervise the kitchen team and ensure smooth operational processes.
    • Contribute to the creation of innovative menus featuring local and seasonal ingredients.
    • Ensure compliance with HACCP regulations and high hygiene and quality standards.
    • Assist in training the team and maintaining an inspiring work environment.
    • Able to lead the kitchen in the Chef’s absence.

    Profile

    • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position in a high-quality restaurant.
    • Passion for gastronomy and a refined taste for working with local, fresh ingredients.
    • Excellent culinary and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
    • Team player with the ability to collaborate effectively and inspire the kitchen team.
    • Solution-oriented, resilient under pressure, and flexible.
    • Fluent in Dutch; knowledge of French and English is a plus.

    Housekeeper

For this reopening, we are looking for a dedicated and meticulous Housekeeper to welcome our guests into a clean, fresh, and inviting environment.

    Your Role

    As a Housekeeper, you play an essential role in creating a memorable experience for our guests. You ensure that the rooms and common areas are perfectly maintained and meet our high-quality standards. From making beds and cleaning bathrooms to restocking amenities, you work with attention to detail to provide guests with a welcoming environment that feels like home.

    Task & responsibilities

    • Clean and prepare guest rooms and bathrooms to hotel standards.
    • Make beds, vacuum, dust, and clean all surfaces.
    • Replenish room supplies such as towels, toiletries, and other amenities.
    • Maintain the cleanliness and order of common areas.
    • Report any technical issues or damages to the supervisor.
    • Contribute to a friendly, professional, and welcoming atmosphere for our guests.

    Profile

    • Experience in housekeeping or a similar role is a plus, but not required.
    • Attention to detail, with a careful and efficient work ethic.
    • Customer-oriented with a positive attitude.
    • Willing to work evenings and weekends.
    • Flexible and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Basic knowledge of Dutch; knowledge of other languages is an advantage.

    Profile

    • Experience in hospitality or fine dining is an advantage, but motivation and eagerness to learn are most important.
    • Good knowledge of wines and enthusiasm for sharing your passion with guests.
    • Charismatic and socially skilled, with a natural flair for hospitality.
    • Well-presented and professional, with a warm and personal approach.
    • Proactive, stress-resistant, and able to maintain high service standards.
    • Fluent in Dutch and French, with a good command of English.
